Below are brief bios of our core faculty.  In addition to the faculty listed here, we have a number of other clinical faculty who participate in resident education at our many training sites.

Stephen Kessler, DO

Program Director

Dr. Kessler founded the KCU-GMEC Phoenix Dermatology Residency Program as an osteopathic training program in 1998.  He has served as Program Director since its inception.  He is also the site director at Alta Dermatology, a community-based dermatology practice founded in 1983.

Christopher Reardon, MD, PhD

Associate Program Director

Dr. Reardon is the division chief of dermatology at the Phoenix VA and serves as the residency site director at this location.  Prior to joining our program, Dr. Reardon served for 18 years as faculty in the Dermatology Residency Program at the University of Colorado.

Andrew Racette, DO

Assistant Program Director

Dr. Racette is a former graduate of our residency program.  In addition to his duties as Assistant Program Director, Dr. Racette is the site director at Omni Dermatology, a community-based dermatology practice located in Phoenix.

Harper Price, MD

Director of Pediatric Dermatology

Dr. Price, a board-certified pediatric dermatologist, is the residency site director at Phoenix Children’s Hospital.  In addition to her responsibilities with our training program, Dr. Price is Division Chief of Pediatric Dermatology at Phoenix Children’s Hospital and serves as Fellowship Program Director.

Karen Warschaw, MD

Director of Dermatopathology

Dr. Warschaw, a board-certified dermatopathologist, is the residency site director at Aurora Diagnostics.  She oversees the dermatopathology education of our residents.  

Weimin Katherine Hu, MD, PhD

Director of Dermatologic Surgery

Dr. Hu, a board-certified Mohs surgeon, is director of Dermatologic Surgery and Procedural Dermatology Training for our residency program.  In addition to her clinical teaching duties, she facilitates the Friday Journal Club/Didactic experience regarding dermatologic surgery.
